This is not really true. NetBSD may be the first on Motorola VME PowerPC boards but OpenBSD, NetBSD and Linuxare running on the previous versions of those VME boards based around the Motorola 68000 series of processors.
NetBSD is not completly on new grounds here [they already had PowerPC and VME code]. For the kind of application these machine runs, having a free OS alternative will be more usefull to companies than having something using a restrictive licence like Linux and Darwin.
They've added alpha as a bootable architecture. Does anybody still make alpha machines anymore?
I don't want to break your fun, but out of the 10 architectures on the CD:
5 are no longer produced: amiga, hp300, mac68k, sparc, vax
2 are still sold but for how long?: alpha (Compact is droping alpha CPUs in favor of Intel 64bit CPU), mvme68k (Motorola new model of VME board use PowerPC cpus)
only 3 are actively produced: i386, macppc, sparc64
Anyway, dead architectures are still very fun to play with. (Got a VAX and 2 SPARC.)
I don't know standard wise but "lbxproxy" is available in XFree86 3.3.2. You run lbxproxy on the remote computer and makw it connect with your LBX enabled X server. You can use "xdpyinfo" to see what is supported by your Xserver. Even the latest Exceed X server supports it. (But I don't have it) But I had difficulties to set up my MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE so that I don't have to do "xhost -". (I stop to use it. termcap or curse interface rules.)

- Stripe of right top fish is made of Sun logos
- Yellow left top fish is covered with Windows logos
Of course, only the blowfish will not get eaten by the cat (because of its spikes).I don't want to break your fun, but out of the 10 architectures on the CD:

So anything that you can receive on an antenna is OK. Cable only channel are not.
Anyway, I should not complain 'cause I have a TV tuner.
How does this compare with the latest (or annonced version) of similar product by Cisco, Nortel,
I think Press Release often look like fantasy essay.
I've never tried BladeEnc at 256k, not enought disk space. But at the standard 128k format, it sucks.
The higher frequencies doesn't sound anything like the original. Making the file useless and painfull to listen to.
mp3enc is maybe slow but produce far more better mp3 files at 128k.
