I appreciate your response and agree with you on Maya's complexity and the humanpower it took to create it. Of course, if I planned to write this entire project by myself, I would be busy for every moment of the rest of my life! I definitely plan on opening the project up for community development as soon as I have a solid codebase and design plan. Thanks!
Thank you for this feedback, I'm glad you mentioned the DAG issues. I agree that Maya's implementation is elegant and intelligent, and hope to incorporate that level of sophistication into my software. Of course, I would like to burn my own trail and not infringe on anyone's intellectual property.
Yes, those products are very inspiring, and I would love to be able to create software that even comes close to competing to them (especially Maya). As for me, I'm a purist.
Yeah, I agree completely. I was actually thinking of ECMAScript since a lot of people know it, and it is pretty straight forward to learn for those who don't.
Of course, once you have captured 103 digital frames, you can play them back at ANY speed you like. I think they were just trying to give an idea of how much video is able to be captured... 30 fps would obviously be much smoother and span less time.
I use both Windows and *?+nix platforms for different things. And one reason I think Windows users like to consolidate functionality is that Windows process management (both from a users and a developers viewpoint) is terribly inefficient and cumbersome. Thus, the less "appliations" they have to have open at once, the better.
