Actually there are several projects like this under way in the US. My father has been involved with two projects to burn oat hulls in power plants. The University of Iowa power plant is already using oat hulls:http://www.uiowa.edu/~ournews/2003/march/0 30603oat s-burn.html And I know that the University of Minnesota is looking into it as well.
