I see alot of comparisons to yelling at people in real life. Here is the difference, if someone walks up to you and yells profanity at you, you have no choice but to listen to it. But if someone posts an entry on their personal blog, you have to actively seek it out and go find it in order to be offended by it.
Here's a clip from the University's Mission Statement:
"...contributing to the advancement of knowledge. Our mission, therefore, is the search for truth, the discovery and sharing of knowledge..."
Perhaps they should revise it to say:
"...contributing to the advancement of knowledge. Our mission, therefore, is the search for truth, the discovery and sharing of knowledge, as long as it doesn't offend us or contradict our views..."
