I ran an Unknown and Barely Surviving Record Company for awhile & when our stuff started swapping on Napster, we were beside ourselves with glee.
I really doubt the industry's claims that file-sharing is killing profits. Small labels are dying for the exposure and word-of-mouth (keyboard?) marketing.. Considering the majors charge you $15.99 and up for $2.00 worth of plastic and paper, I really have no problem personally with file sharing.. if it's something that's quality that I want to keep, I'll go out and buy a CD.. otherwise it's just too expensive to keep up..
