Reffering to a fledgling OS I would say maybe OS X or BeOS (it's a strech, but it never caught on so it works)

Thanks for the help. *checks one features he needs in OS X off the list*

The bloated thing I can understand. I've been running 3.0 for a while and besides the crashing it's just calling for a complete GUI overhaul. They have way to much stuff all trying to function in the same GUI that can barely handle what they have already implimented. It's sad.

Not quite the same thing, but classic Mac OS has text and picture clippings. If you just select some text in any app and drag it to the desktop it makes a text file with the first 20 or so characters of text. Works for pictures and movies too. Very nice feature. Missing in OS X :(

Those things could all be achieved with present technology. That doesn't take AI. Embed ViaVoice into your house on a Linux backend that controls lighting, TV (set top box system), and temperature. Only thing you couldn't do would be to cook the food for you. Or at least not for a reasonable price.

Check your history. The chinese were inslaved in the mercury mines. So again where's there history month? Dont even get me started on reverse racism. PC shit doesn't work. There is a unproportional amount of black TV shows. No major shows that are aimed at hispanic, indian or asian viewers. Why is that?

Actually for the most part MS keeps compatibility. That's what compatibility mode is for. It might be a shitty way to do it, but it works. I'm tired of hearing that arguement over and over again. It doesn't work. Stick with stuff that works. Security holes. That works.
