How can an inability "stagger"? An inability is an innate characteristic of a person or thing. The person or thing possessing that characteristic can stagger, but the abilities (or inabilities) of that person (or thing) cannot stagger since they do not have legs.
Someday, SOMEDAY we will discover a race of super human vegan Atlantean descendants ruled by Amelia Earhart, living inside a hollow Earth, flying UFOs powered by perpetual power from magnets, guarded by a race of super intelligent Yetis all of whom are Mensa members. THEN what are you going to do with your skepticism, huh?
Just you wait and see. Edgar Cayce will be proven correct and all you sheeple will realize it too late!!!
Putin. And he's on second. And third. And he's playing in left field. And center field. And right field. And he's the catcher. And the pitcher. Medvedev was the shortstop, but when he missed a ground ball he was replaced by Putin.
My Dad suffered from Lewy Body Dementia at the end of his life. Early on with the disease he had days he was OK, other days he would see and talk to people that weren't there.
On one of the days when he was doing OK I told him that he was suffering from dementia and that he was talking to people that weren't really there. He was surprised and asked me to repeat that. When I confirmed that on his bad days he was talking to people that weren't really there his response was, "Well, at least I'll never have no one to talk to."
Just a question out of curiosity - how were they able to prove "...she was actively using her facebook account day-to-day." I agree that yes, the account was active, but how could they prove that the ex-wife was the person using the account?
I'd think that proving the person behind the curtain was the wizard would require rather more proof than just seeing the shoes beneath the curtain move...
This indeed. I have pfSense running on one of these with a 60 Gig SSD drive. If it wasn't for the cat trying to hide behind it I wouldn't even know it was there and running.
I now have this image of the scientists hearing "Yeeee-hah" as the atom slams into another atom, splitting it, while waving it's tiny little cowboy hat...
Shouldn't that be "He had been sick, be he has gotten well"? I think with what you wrote it implies he is still sick ("He has been sick") which would disagree with the second part ("he has gotten well"), whereas "He had been sick, but he has gotten well" seems to me to reflect the sequence more directly.
...Linux source is readily available while Windows source is not?
To the general public that is true, but don't forget this leak and more recently this disgruntled employee. And remember - these are only the leaks of source code that we know about. I am sure that a lot more of the source is available to those with fewer scruples than you or I.
I really, really miss our doorman. When the last guy retired, the building did not replace him. Now we get keys to the package drop box in our mailbox if USPS delivers, or notes if there is no free drop box or the delivery is handled by UPS/FedEx otherwise. There are a whole host of other reasons why I miss the doorman and would bring one back in a heartbeat, but not every building in Manhattan has a doorman. Management seems to believe a doorman can be replaced with a web site and a security monitoring company, but that's very shortsighted from my experience.
And how exactly is a drone supposed to make a delivery to my apartment on the 56th floor in the middle of Manhattan? Drone delivery may be good for a farm out in the country where we don't want to waste time sending a truck and driver to the only order in fifty miles. But densely populated cities? A truck and driver will be much more efficient for that environment.

Reminds me of the Amish Diet - eat whatever you want, but walk everywhere. One Amish farmer in a study I remember reading of around 15 years ago walked 28 miles per day on average. The average for all the Amish in the study was 16 miles per day.
Actually, no, that's not the way the bridges work.
You see, that area of Iceland is actually rather swampy and it is sort of daft to build a bridge on a swamp, but they build them all the same, just to show it can be done. Then it sinks into the swamp, so they build a second one. That sinks into the swamp. So they build a third. That usually burns down, falls over, and sinks into the swamp. But the fourth bridge -that stays up. And that's what you're going to get, Lad, the strongest bridges in all of Europe.
We've all heard these "stem cell breakthrough" stories a thousand times over, but really, a breakthrough from studying transparent zebra fish? I'll believe it when I see it.
I didn't say that violence was rising. I didn't say we were worse off now than earlier. All I said was that we had better define what we mean by "Success" in the context of what I quoted.
I really doubt that anyone living in just the three events I linked to would be comforted by the fact that the world as a whole is now a better place to live. They would certainly not think they were living in a world that demonstrates "...the acceleration of cultural and technological innovation that is the hallmark of modern human success".
So where do we set the goalposts? How do we define "success" in creating a more cooperative and less violent culture? That is what I want to know when I look out at the world as it is now. Yes, it is a better place but I think it is far from a success when we still have nations using force to solve their problems. I suppose for me the definition of success would be an end to war and I think we are very, very far away from that.
"Whatever the cause, reduced testosterone levels enabled increasingly social people to better learn from and cooperate with each other, allowing the acceleration of cultural and technological innovation that is the hallmark of modern human success," says University of Utah biology graduate student Robert Cieri.

Yes, it is true and verifiable, no matter how much the chimps try and deny they are in any way related to humans.
I admit this is speculation, but I have to wonder if the conversation went something like this:
Comcast: We're sorry, we admit those charges you're disputing are our error but there is no way for us to remove those now.
Customer: Don't be ridiculous. I've worked for Big Name Accounting Firm for years. You most certainly can reverse those charges.
Not saying that this happened, but given the customer's profession and the reason he was calling I could see the above scenario.

Believe it or not, people who study animal locomotion do actually do research on animal locomotion.
Wouldn't copying from an actual animal be considered cheetah-ing?

The link above works fine for me. It links to a PopSci article. Here is the url I get to.

I am not a pessimist, but I will say that we are a far cry from being a "success".
