Look, IBM and RedHat are business partners this does not mean RedHat gets to go and ask IBM for a bigger allowance whenever they get themselves in a jam. Also if you look at the flow of money again you'll notice it was for services rendered or contracts agreed on. Not just seed money.
In response to the 'this won't take much money anyway' comment that just shines with stupidity. No matter the strength of a case it can be dragged out and in a game like this one with the stakes so high for so many companies it won't be an afternoon in court. This will be costly and messy.
I think you missed the point. Nintendo currently offers an ethernet adapter for the game cube and I don't think that would change for a newer system. The issue is whether or not running an online service like Xbox Live is a crippling mistake.
I'm one of the developers on patchdot. This is still a very early stage and the source is pretty gross. Like the teamlead posted earlier please give us feedback, this could become a very usefull tool for following the linux kernel. Also we will be providing the code back to PHPNuke so others can use our modules. One last thing the post didn't mention, patchdot is one of the projects sposored by the Clarkson Open Source Institute.
To me one of the most interesting parts of using linux was the ability to choose your window manager that fit your needs and have it be fully fuctional. I personally do not like gnome or kde. It seems like we're getting less and less of a choice when more things are being built around them. Is a whole generation of linux users going to miss out in our search for a user friendly desktop? I'm afraid we're going to loose diversity in linux applications with homoginization of linux.

I'll be taking it next semester, but currently the course is taught using minux.
old skool.

practically doesn't mean they did invent the GUI. Beyond that X is not a GUI.
