How many other generic comebacks do you have? I assume this is not the only one. Did you write this when Win95 shipped? Have you ever used a Mac? Have you ever considered that most Mac users are not concerned wih security? Thats the Linux people job. We design the sites, they host and protect.

Im in a similar situation as you. 2 drives, 4 partitions though. One for X, one for 9, one for scratch and one for Linux. Yaboot is useless. normally i boot to X so when i want to boot to YDL i just hold shift at boot which forces it to locate all bootable volumes. its a pain in the ass yes, but it works for me.
Unfortunately i have not yet been able to set up a distrob well. YDL 2.0 was fine, but no audio CD. And mandrake was a disaster. Hopefully this summer when schools out ill have a chance to spend more time with it.
Pretty soon we'll have three of these in a big underground control room that make our every decision. We'll call them Malchiar, Balthasar, and Caspar. But then we'll need litle kids to fight to save us from atacking angels in giant part human machines...
sigh... oh well, i guess Evangelion is getting a little closer though.
Yes, this may be true but if youve seen an ipod opened there are built in tolerances currently filled by foam tabs, possibly in anticipation of the 20g. I dont know first hand though, I dont plan on opening mine any time soon.
In theory you could use Toshiba's 20g drive instead of just the measly 10g one. The only thing youll have to do is rip the HD image off of one pod, and put it on your new HD. Good luck reassembling your case though, ive read its pretty tough to get the seams flawless.
FCP has just a little bit of competition from the likes of Adobe Premier and After Effects. I find myself using AE more than Premier and FCP3 combined. Especially not thet AE 5.5 is in X.
It all boils down to personal preference. For some people M$ Paint is all they need, for others its Painter or Gimp or PS or Studio Paint, whatever gets the job done well.
Ok, for everyone saying that the GCN doesn't have online play, well neither does the PS2 yet. We've all heard that both system will have online play, but this is yet to be released. Sony was supposed to have theirs out sometime LAST year. I invite all of you system owners to take out your GCNs and PS2s and open the expansion bays, *lookie* the're both empty. You're going to have to shell out the dough, either way. As for the XBOX release, as of last month's XBOX magazine, the BOX will only support broadband play, not the 56K modem that they announced long ago. Sure, Broadband is on the XBOX now, but how many gamers does that shut into a cold dark room?
Frankly I'm happy to hear about a new FF game, I don't care what system it is for, but when given the choice, I'm gonna buy the modem and FF XI on the GCN. Just please Square Soft, no more voice acting, ok?
when i installed ydl on my g4 400 it crashed on the first attempt. The second worked however. once up and running in dual boot i found that i was using it just for the fact of trying linux out. The cd audio still dosent work, gnome cannot upgrade for some reason, yup has never worked,its a big mess. I am currently building a peecee to run linux and BeOS r5 on.
i see no point to seriously running linux on ppc hardware, its more trouble than its worth, not to mention expensive.
Btw where can i find that hack for my cd drive for audio.

Everytime i used it on a peecee it ran significantly smoother and it irked me. peecee better than my G, ha, not any more!

btw hearing the mac start up bell on a pc would make me sick, more sick that hearing w*ndows chimes on vpc.
