The reset of us don't care where the sun is at noon. And if you live in the UK, you don't care where the sun is at noon, you just say "Oooo, look above at the... the... uh, bright yellow ball"

While it is true that many or even most OSS projects need help with the UI, choosing CUPS (which is almost certainly the worst UI in an OSS product that is a major part of a distro) to pick on makes OSS look orders of magnitude worse than it really it.
But, ESR is right, usability issues in lots of OSS products is probably the best place to focus effort.
CUPS should be fixed first. It's awful and one of the first things new Linux users are bludgeoned with.
