And you know what it comes down to? Apple. Apple has a deal to use ATI cards in their Macintoshes. They're STUCK using these crappy cards forever, and it's no wonder Carmack never disses them, he has always had a sweet spot for Apple.
Huh? Yea, that was true..like maybe 3-4 years ago. All macs have the build-to-order option of having either a radeon 8500 or a geforce 4 Ti4600 (well i BELIEVE its a 4600), also, the imacs are standard built with a geforce2mx in it. Not entirely sure about the mobile systems though.
I liked the original dub also, not to say the new one is bad, but I think the main reason myself and others like the original is mainly due to how it is the version that it was first seen as.
I saw Akira at least 20 times with the original dub, and I was quite used to it. When I got the new DVD of it, I was disappointed at first, but I realized that I just wasn't comfortable with it yet. I am now, and I also realize that it is a superior dub. It just takes time.
