Ever see the joke: If computer/software companies made cars? Well, just think of the problems when CarAPI v1.0 by M$ is found to have a nasty little hole in it that, when exploited, you car suddenly becomes a moving fireball (i.e the gas tank suddenly explodes while you are driving down I-5 at 80mph). Wouldn't that just be fun?
