I haven't read all of the comments and replies, but since I am German I know one thing for sure: We will not be able to vote via computer, so the actual counting still goes on in some more or less dark chambers. No OpenSource or Java software for just predicting on how it all is going to come out, will change anything about that.
Still I'm very happy, that they chose a combination of MS and LINUX for their administration meanwhile...
