Exactly. I love Photoshop (in Windows! ) and I've tried previous versions of GIMP. Most likely its my tendancy to do everything the 'Photoshop-way' that I don't like GIMP. I'm going to try 2.0 tomorrow and see how it goes. Perhaps it will be one more piece of the Linux puzzle for me to find an answer to, or maybe not. Either way, without even trying the new version, I think this is a huge step in the 'right' direction of converting the PS users. Regardless of my opinion after tomorrow, cheers to the GIMP team & keep up the fantastic work!
There is a design problem with that. You have the same information in two places. Even if both pieces of information are stored in the same place, all the code that affects it must know to update both places. This can lead to the subtle "random" bugs that make us developers drink so much.:)
You might be interested in PlaneShift. It's an open source and free-to-play MMORPG. I have been interested in it, both as a player and to help out, but have not done either at this point. Laziness mostly. Anyway, YMMV, but looks like you can download it for Windows or Linux and start playing quick enough.

Umm.. your TWO sites that make a "list" are not censored for me, and I am quite happily well within the US, thank you very much.
