My opera comment wasn't a flame, I was being honest, I feel it is a much better browser over all. I have daily crashes from both IE and Mozilla. Opera is rock solid and going strong in my book.
I am no programmer and I am proud of it. I am a Systems Admin on the other hand and I often try out new software developments from SF and freshmeat. Although the software is normally buggy or slighly problematic it is useful software. I often run into problems and because I have the source I can make some changes and get the program working. I then very often submit my changes to the maintainer/author who-ever and the problem is fixed in the next release. I do not put my name in the list of developers but yet I do develop. Normally, I don't even see my name in the README but I still develop.
These numbers are skewed way to the low end and no one will ever know the real numbers. There are too many silent ones like myself out there who work but get no credit.
Is it really possible to make it so I cannot copy something which is playing on my TV?
I have a VCR, I have a video capture card, if I take a signal out of my VCR in the living room and plug it into the video capture card in the office, what is to stop me from making a digital copy available online. I may not get the true digital quality but who cares?
Maybe if the media companies don't want "piracy" of thier media, they should just go out of business and stop worrying about the whole thing. It's not like they're going broke, they still make millions.
So what you are saying is time depends on time. Or was it time depends on relativity? or was it time depends on the atoms.
no matter what you are saying, well put but I kinda feel we should do this just for the simple fact, we can.
If we just sit around with our thumbs up our asses and don't try anything, why do we even have science? The purpose of science is to try new and different things and then to prove or disprove our initial thoughts and the processes we are using.
Damn, we have to use the ISS for something, did we just send it up there to look pretty and have people live on it for 6 months at a time.
I am happy that LOTR is a great movie and I love the books but I must say. Who gives a damn if this guy is talking at anything? So he used linux and perl, whoopdy-do, I use it every day for heavy duty imaging work. It's nothing new and nothing different, damn, just have Richard Stallman talk, he loves to hear himself think.
I have been going to zd's website for several years and I have also been a less frequent visitor to c-net but I have never realized c-net owns the domain name com.com. I just found it odd when I clicked on the link at the top of the article it was taking me to:
http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1104-929669.html
How in the hell have I missed this over my last 6-7 years online and moreso should I feel like a total idiot for just now realizing it or should I feel like a total idiot for actually posting that I feel like an idiot on slashdot?
mmmmm, I will sit and ponder the meanimg of it all.

It still won't work as well as Opera.
Just my $.02
