Last summer, a family moved in next door. Before we even met in person, I Googled the unusual word on their license plate. It turned out to be a variation of their last name...and, boy, do these folks have web presence!
I looked at their wedding photos, pictures from camping trips with friends, pix of their kids and relatives, and their business website. What's even more interesting is that they didn't hesitate to put even the most personal details of their lives online. I mean their home address (old and new), home phone number (!), when and where their kids were born, resumes, personal facts...I know more about these people than I knew about the last neighbors in four years of living next door! And they've only just learned our last name.
I rather suspect that these folks might read Slashdot. If so, I'm sure they know now who I am! So...hi, folks; let's get together for a BBQ this summer sometime!
I used to kill hours watching the search requests scroll by on Metacrawler's Metaspy page back when people still used Metacrawler. Any chance we could have something like that on Google? I would *almost* even pay to subscribe to a site where I could watch uncensored Google search requests go by.
After this expose, I'm surprised PreacherTom shows his face anywhere now...
See?
