The GPL does not require me to distribute binaries to everyone that wants them, it just says I and anyone else CAN distribute binaries (or derivatives) and must make the source code available.
Mr. Love is banking on the fact that many business will pay to avoid the headache of compiling sources, avoiding incompatibilities, and gave support for their systems.
He said they would make the source available for all open-source software.

It's neither mass produced art nor is it artistic engineering nor is it special or inciteful. It's an ordinary product made by people who have to be extraordinary simply to overcome all of it's other failures. It's the dancing bear - interesting not because it dances so well but because it dances at all. It is a controlled crash.
