I'm sure since they're not being allowed to be married, the sanctity of the institution called Marriage is strong and intact, every married couple is happy until they are set apart by death. Let me check... Hang on.. What's this thing called divorce rate and why is it on the increase all the time? I thought the ban on the gay happiness was supposed to protect different-sex-couple's marriages! Something's wrong here! Someone call the Pope! Everyone! To the PopeMobile!
I think you will find it's not the Governments against same-sex marriage but it's the religions and their institutions (churches, mosques, temples) and they should not stick their noses into other people's personal lives. Also the amount of the power Catholic and other churches hold over governments is terrifying. Let me know when America gets an openly Atheist president.
You have to start from somewhere. At least bringing the Polish laws up to date to the decency would be a win. Same-sex marriage will eventually become a undeniable right in all of EU.
The really funny bit is the rest of the commercial Linux distributions in that list (RHEL, Suse) and non-commercial clones and others (CentOS, CNL) are not counted as Linux. The only non-Linux OS in that list which has a % share over 1 is AIX. Windows even doesn't make it, 0.8% with a whopping 4 installations.
It was, then the congresscritters of US decided that their districts are not getting enough pork so they resurrected it. It's a zombie project, not going to achieve anything but cost billions and feed the military industrial complex. While the Orion builders lobbying (or should I say it aloud, bribing), the others got their designs from scratch, launched multiple test flights and moving fast into the success column of the history books. Of course it won't be too long until the US politicians will create a law banning anything but the Orion spacecraft for manned trips - they pulled similar tricks in the past.
15 years ago my ex-girlfriend used to work on an atmospheric research radar design as a part of her thesis which was capable of seeing individual raindrops. Not sure what's the big deal here.
I guess you really never worked in IT. It happens all the time especially when the MTBF of two disks are similar and they were installed at similar times, if they were from the same batch, all bets are off. If you are using RAID5, the likelihood of having two failures is massive, in some certain conditions a certainity.
As for any non-H1B workers who are American citizens AND don't have driver's licences AND they're not white? You're fucked. Good luck proving who you are.
Good luck if you leave your wallet at home accidentally. I do it all the time. Here in UK, if I cannot present my driving licence to the police when asked, I have a week to do so at a police station. So far I am not bundled up and thrown out of the country nor was under that risk. This is why this law is insane and racist. The pigs will only harass you if you don't look white and there's no easy way of proving who you are not (an illegal).
High decibels are nothing that can't be fixed by a simple ear plug. Nowadays my earplugs go to any metal concert I go to. I find the music much more enjoyable once my ears stop bleeding. At least one concert in Oxford I walked out because I could hear the band very well and decide they were crap.
Russian automated docking systems used to fail once in a while. The famous Mir-Progress collusion was an attempt on doing a manual docking (to save money by not carrying the automated system which would burn away once the Progress would deorbit) with an unmanned spacecraft (Progress) with the guidance but no control from the manned craft (Mir) which went horribly wrong.
ISS is mainly MIR-2 and its assorted bits and bobs. If Russians decide to go and play their own ball and take Mir-2 bits, the rest would deorbit and burn in no time and the Russians would still have a viable space station.
It looks like you don't know what a bank holiday is. The business people hate bank holidays because they have to pay their staff but gain no monetary gains out of it (i.e., no work is done). There were calls to reduce the even tiny amount of bank holidays UK has since they cost too much to the economy.
Not at all. The prices are driven by the long-term speculators. The speculators banked on a war between Iran and US which would bring the Arabian Gulf production to almost a standstill and drive the petrol prices rocket high. The war (so far) has not happened. The economic recovery in Europe has not happened, UK and many other European countries are going through a dual-dip recession (i.e., we're fucked) and there's not enough business to go around. Everyone is making savings, driving less, driving shorter, do stuff over the phone / internet instead of shipping someone around. Families stay at home, they don't have money to spend as if it was a decade ago. Everyone is selling their old clunkers and buying more efficient cars, diesels if they can, all over 45-50mpg. Even Chinese economy is not growing as fast as it was a couple of years ago because less people can afford to buy stuff.
All of this reduces the global prices, you guys get a free lunch out of it. Enjoy.
A lot of analysis sites think the Saudis will have problems in increasing the production any more, their oil fields are aging and even with the new production methods, the cost of getting anything down below will increase. Eventually the pricess will go over the roof.
The history of women astronauts in NASA is a fascinating one. The US women astronaut candidates dealt with all of the tests as well as their male counterparts, they were lighter, smaller, as a result more suitable to the cramped conditions of the Mercury capsule and its launcher's very limited load capability where every kg counted. Then from the top it came, the astronauts can only be jet fighter pilots and guess, there were none of those in the "wrong" sex. It was the Shuttle era, 20 odd years later, when the first American woman managed to become an Astronaut. Russians, on the other hand, managed to get one up in the air pretty quickly (for propaganda reasons, obviously) and then the next woman Russian astronaut had to wait a while too.
The history of women in space can be summarised in one sentence: it sucks to be you. Hopefully it will change and get better, there were women shuttle commanders.
If you're preventing him from being a dick, bigot, racist and a homophobe.
Literally, their argument is always "you can't punish me, my religion says I can be a dick and you can't outlaw religion"!
Campaigning to lift a stupid ban is not the same thing as campaigning to apply the same ban to others. I think you watch Faux News too much.

I don't see Google proposing a ban on different-sex marriages so what is it to them? Those bigots can go and fuck themselves.

I think these people should read the other bits of their precious Leviticus, it would be an eye opener.
What bit of the definition of Transgender is taxing your brain?

I thought those were called a merger and a spin-off in that order.
I think you'll find Linus's name has more in Linux name than you think there is. That backronym is not correct.

They tried to join ISS, A certain North American country said "never, never, never!", and it wasn't the Canadians nor Mexico.

Even Gagarin had no control and everything was automated.
