...why don't all you open source zealots that think TMC rigged the J2EE PetStore (or fucked it up, or whatever) write a version that you think can compare favorably to.NET, running on the fastest, newest servers (db and web)? all the code is available - you have the strength of open peer reviews. instead of crying foul, provide something to substantiate your claims.
no, dumbass. MS wrote the.NET verstion and Sun Wrote the J2EE version. what you read was that MS optimized the.NET version and TMC optimized the J2EE version.
1) Tom Burris sites the enormous fuel capacity of the fighter as the coolant for the laser, but they are utilizing an area "used largely for fuel storage in the other variants" to house the laser system, so they are reducing the amount of fuel that can be used to dissipate the heat.
2) you couldn't fire the weapon on a low or empty tank without overheating.
can anyone point to a good (preferably online, but not required) resource for what he calls "JSP's marriage with Javascript"? feel free to substitute ASP for JSP.
i develop web applications and i've never read a good resource on this specific topic. i'm a firm believer is separation of presentation and business logic, but i've only seen XML-RPC and SOAP really offer an elegant solution to this problem.
i think Slashcode offering an NNTP gateway would only be logical. the threaded topic web-work-alike was a great move to gain popularity and is invaluable when i'm off of my machine, but less than optimal for when i'm using/. at home or work.
i guess if this comes to fruision, i'll have to write a news-reader that's actually worth a shit.

and you can, too! in fact, they are already around your wrists and heads as you read this.
i'm actually going to call mine VAPOR, since that's what it is.

having two small children myself, i just assumed that preventing reproduction was the reason that they lived twice as long...
i noticed two problems with the cooling strategy:
1) Tom Burris sites the enormous fuel capacity of the fighter as the coolant for the laser, but they are utilizing an area "used largely for fuel storage in the other variants" to house the laser system, so they are reducing the amount of fuel that can be used to dissipate the heat.

it's telling to see that Mircosoft's showcase site for server reliability and scalability can be brought down by being /.ed
