As a business owner, I ask anyone that tells me to make my pages W3C compliant to do the math.
To make my pages compliant, it takes my employees X amount of hours, where they could be making Y amount of money doing other jobs to make my pages viewable by Z amount more people.
Cost for compliance = X * Wage + Y * Billable Rate to facilitate Z people.
Cost for non-compliance = 0 + business lost from Z
Right now, Z is less than 3% of my page hits. Do the math.
