If somebody offers to sell you something, and then you take it from them without paying for it, you're stealing. I don't care if it's music or software or furniture or hugs or bunny rabbits or laughter. Stealing is stealing, and fucking idiots are fucking idiots, and that's the way the world is.
So if you download a Linux Distribution from an official server you obviously steal it. Your local bookshop sells it, but you just take it for free.
You're right. Neither the short version (only make) nor the long version (make spline) finished on my AMD-1GHz yet. He says that "make" should only take about 1 minute, but after one hour it's still working and flooding my tty2 with thousands of values between 0.64 and 0.66. If I stop it with Ctrl+C the output ps is not very nice, 4 pixels when zooming in to maximum (3 red ones, the pixel in the upper left is black, whow that was worth one hour computing).
I'll keep on hoping it's not an infinite loop.

Hi!
But he actually says he "Sorry, I love Mandrake, but I'm not going to upgrade until they squish that GCC bug.". Why not upgrade Mandrake if gcc doesn't work with his Windows software?
I guess we'll never know

Imagine MS would have done this some years before and many wouldn't even have heard of the possibility to write your own software. Where would Open-Source be now?
