Mr Szulik, what would you say to those users who have been running RedHat Linux with applications that require [and only work on] RedHat? i got caught in the situation, where one of my servers RH7.3 with a paid RHN subscription is running Plesk Server Administrator, which require RH and doesn't support RHEL except in the latest release which would cost me over $600 USD to upgrade to.
now i have one of two options.. either migrate to RHEL, and upgrade Plesk, which would cost me a big amount of money, not to mention the hassle of rebuilding the entire server from scratch.. or stop using both plesk and redhat as plesk doesn't support any other distribution ( it depends on RH due to the filesystem paths and other factors such as the way RH handles the network subsystem )
you might say Fedora is an option.. but with a 3-4 months life time.. i don't think so!
though this doesn't sound like something Microsoft would do! i mean, from a business oriented point of view, i don't see any obvious gain for microsoft. and knowing Microsoft, they don't usually do anything for free!
BTW: Does anybody know what they're talking about when they claim that other TLDs have implemented something like SiteFinder? *.cc ( try weoithweiothweothweo.cc ) *.ws ( same as above ) *.tk another example.. there's a whole bunch of others as well
