2. It does cost you more money. If the services you use are paying extortion they will pass the cost on to you. Additionally the telcos will shut down VoIP so one of the huge cost savings benefit of having broadband is gone.
According to Bob Cringley, Net Neutrality is all about VoIP. How else can the telcos recoop their losses when a customer converts to VoIP other than charging the VoIP provider a hefty fee or by making it so undesireable that the customer would switch back?
I agree wholeheartedly. My wife and I are both programmers for the same company. She is a mainframe/cobal programmer and I do workstation programming in C++/C#/Java/Visual Basic/etc.
We have two daughters. The older is 4 1/2 and the younger is 2 1/2.
There have been times when my wife's group or project required her to put in extra hours and I have had to do the same in my group or on my projects. During these times we have worked it out.
For the most part, our company does not demand a lot of extra hours. 40hr weeks are more the norm than not. When it comes to family vs company each of our managers [and the upper echelon] understand how important family is.
