My guess is that the university is using the Patriot Act as an excuse to get rid of that link. They probably have been viewing this group with suspicion for some time and loath their anarchistic and radical views.

PFE (Program File Editor)? I believe the last version of it doesn't have any bugs; at least I've never come across any, although it's a shame that it doesn't utilize the registry more for storing recent paths.

He wasn't saying there was anything wrong with that. It just isn't a capitalist philosophy, rather it is more socialist. In reality, there aren't any governments on earth that are 100% capitalist--they all have socialistic elements (including the US). If your have pure capitalism, you end up with Enrons, railway barons, runs on the stock market, etc. whereas if you strive for pure socialism, you end up with countries like communist Russia and China, where the great majority of the power resides with the top, corrupt politicians whom have control over all of the country's industries. In general, though, European countries such as France tend to be more socialistic than America.

Sure, here's a couple of surveys:
Marriage Prospects Highest for Urban Women Who Frequently Attend Church, According to Penn Study
Unwed urban moms gain from attending church

You can explain this in a number of ways that don't directly involve god, but, as usual, if you could prove that it directly involved god then you could also prove that god exists, which is rather difficult :). Also, I'll admit that it's a stretch to say that these are the surveys you're looking for, but I would challenge you to consider an appropriate survey and do a search to see if someone has, in fact, already attempted such a survey.

The main reason for this is that sound doesn't travel in a vacuum. You would hear some rumbling in the cockpit due to the vibrations of the combustion chamber, but most of the sound of the combustion would be lost due to the vacuum.

  6. Simple question about evolution on Evolution - Beyond the Popular Science · · Score: 1

I have noticed that people generally assume that evolution takes place so slowly that it is impossible to directly observe complex creatures (such as insects) turn from one species to another. Is this correct? If people were to have evolved from a disticntly different species 3 million years ago with a full generation taking 24 yrs, then that would be 125000 generations. Now, if these were fruit flies with a generation occuring every 5 days, this would take about 68 years. Since we have been observing fruit flies for nearly this length of time and doing all sorts of experiments with them, shouldn't there be another species by now? And I'm not talking about steril 'freaks' with 4 wings, but a stable population with the same quantity if not greater quantity of genetic data than the previous species? To me, this would be substantial proof of evolution.
