Depending on what you need it for, I'd recommend avoiding the Diamond graphics card. I've used both a Diamond Viper 770 and an ASUS V3800TVR (both based on the TNT2 chip), and had much better luck with the ASUS. However, a friend used the very same V770 that caused me no end of problems and he has absolutely no problems with it. YMMV.
Also, you may wish to buy a small number of systems from a supplier to test and experiment with. Linux is a nice OS, but it may not be right for your applications - don't buy into an OS because it's popular, use the right tool for the job. Example: As much as I like Linux, Solaris is much better for the job I need to do at work.
I thought this stuff had already been done before... Web based management, simply plug in and turn on to set up, easy to use, cheap, embedded OS...
This sounds like a pretty cheap ripoff of the Cobalt Qube/Raq to me...
And embedded NT?? That's hilarious! Aren't embedded systems supposed to be cheap, small, and most importantly, stable?

Why hasn't Sun done this?

Java for EGCS

Sun should have done something like this a long time ago instead of using the lame Java Virtual Machine. The whole concept of a VM is what made Java so unappealing to everyone. The only unfortunate thing about this is that it's taken a third party to figure this out... Ah well, this is a good thing - it puts Java back in it's proper place, being a LANGUAGE, not a language+virtual computer+bytecode+windowing systems (AWT, Swing), etc...
