    Maybe have various sets for computer skills, as you do with say maths in many schools.
    I agree. Kids should start learning perl and C++ ASAP.

    Why don't folks just run linux.

    Well, they could, but why not just have a linux router/firewall? I know we all have old 133s lying around in our closets...why not put them to use?
