we need to find a way to educate the whole human race. we need to let everyone understand that there is an alternative in life. Violence is only to lead to violence, while love leads to love and understanding leads to understanding.
think about what we have been through the whole human history. we killed each other only because we don't know each other, we are not related to each other.

my opinion is: write several different versions of resume, the one with your open source projects is for the OS as_ kissers. And if applying for MS jobs in M$, tell them you can use MS IDEs(.NET specially) like brushing your teeth.

the reason open source initiated is for cummulative development. The software system nowdays is getting more and more complicated. It is thus rather significant for all the knowledge and experience to get passed on. regard to you opinion: "open source projects is that somebody writes some code for their own needs. They think it is cool", the most important part is that developers under open source related liscences agree to share their source code. whether the product is userfriendly or not, really depends on the favour of the individual developers, the purpose the the software is going to serve.
