Hey now, does anyone besides me remember past posts, regarding DOJ/FBI's own malware, CIPAV? It was a capable malware that knew the difference between Windows, Mac, & Linux (BTW-did anyone ever solve the legal dillema of scrubbing a customer pc and finding it? Do we remove it as we are paid to & obstruct justice or leave it and do a partial job?) Next, I recall a recent find, within about a year, an equally capable malware, found by F-Secure, in Bogota, which reconfigured itself, prior to attacking either of the three. Obviously, linux malware infestation by governments and otherwise is certainly possible!
Why not transfer the ship from the USN, to the US Border Patrol and do a 'little real fishing' for drug runners & smugglers? It may be a failed design from a contract contest, but it certainly could be useful elsewhere, far more sensible, to me.
For those of you who have WXTrack or gPredict or even the rusty old DOS version QuikTrak 4. Here are the 2-Line track elements (from celestrak.com) to plug in to the above software or similar and you can plot the course and collision possibilities yourselves.

If you need further help understanding these NORAD 2-Line elesets, please see this page: http://celestrak.com/columns/v04n03/#FAQ01 for the manual key in entry in your tracking software.
Depending on available sunlight angle and sat size, you can also plot the times and locations in the sky of when it is visible, for like re-entry burn up. That's if you happen to be lucky/unlucky to be close enough to see it. From my "Ham radio sat days", it is best to get fresh tracking data, every week, for the best results. I did a lot of this in '94 or '96 and back then it was pretty cool to run a digital signal from a pc linked hand held radio in Kansas and bounce it off of the Soviet MIR space station or sometimes the non-military shuttle hops, just to get to Chicago, IL! Good luck and happy sat hunting!
Even though you have money and bought your music outright, these days, you don't really own the rights to it. Much like money, yeah, you sweated your butt off for it and now you have it on payday. But, do you really own your own money? (Deep and resounding) Nuuuuupe! Just try burning your money! Technically, that is destruction of government property. You really don't own your own money and you don't really own your own music either. Music and money certainly to go together very well. That's a "Virtual Détente" (or a virtual ownership, based strictly upon the mommentary possession thereof), it appears that, you have it but you don't.
Also, since the government has the true and final ownership over your own hard earned money, similarly, does that also mean the government also owns your music too? Or, is your music just another "medium for exchange and trade" and in the final ownership of each recording company? The latter certainly appears to be the case, with the abundance of P2P networks! Wether truely legal or not, appears to be irrelevant, as it is generally publicly accepted as "that's how it is." Much like, how the general public has accepted "corruption within the government."
I'd rather have the Nazgûl, of EFF attourneys, represent us, than Senator Spectre, who gives me flashbacks of James Bond's S.P.E.C.T.R.E. Blocking cameras is a great idea but... The idea makes sense to protect revenues and secrets. But considering the locales involved, like movie theatres. Now drug lords would figure that police cannot video tape them there, makes for a great place to trade eh? Now, how about "Mid-Movie Muggings"? I don't think I'll be taking my dates there anymore! Frankly a lot of our personal security & evidenciary proof depends on cameras (still or video). Would this bring us back to conventional film cameras and relying on eye witness credibility (ex. drunks in a theatre)? If these systems could ever be manufactured small enough, like a wearable device (very likely in future), such a device would be a requirement for any thug. Health wise, would these devices harm an individual with wearable monitor style sunglasses? Not that I'd wear them in a movie, to get the news or anything. But it appears, such a person doing so might get blinded by this white light beam from a laser. To blind anyone would be a nasty legal liability.

Please accept my own comments, for what they are worth. After all, it is a laugh, but a fairly accurate one. Even my own additions do not make it all encompassing, but hopefully closer to the truth.

I have been underclocking an AMD 550 K6-2 for abt 3 years. Low heat output was a benefit, motherboard stability was the key reason for doing so. Pre 100 MHz bus boards were not very stable at higher bus speeds. Even though 83 Mhz was supported by this particular "offbrand" board, 66 MHz was the most stable, 75MHz was used for some time, but resulted in many "coffee coasters" of bad burnt CD's, due to a 4x4x20 Ricoh burner, lacking buffer under-run tech. (since replaced)at the time. This AMD 550 still operates at 350 MHz, for max reliability. And is housed in a modified 8088 processor era desktop case, with abt 9 fans! So cooling was not my prime concern.
