I am developing some PHP websites for imode phones. The problem so far was that pictures _have_ to be in GIF format (and under 10k). And as PHP is using GD to generate its pictures, I was screwed.
Now, getting my hosting provider to upgrade is another problem.:(
SuperUTL is a damn useful CD. It features: bootable DOS with NTFS support, boot to partition magic, drive image, ERD commander (reset a lost password), Ghost, Norton SystemWorks, SpinRite, tomsrtbt,...
On the CD, you can also find the Winternals Administrator's pack, recoverNT/98, tweakUI, 4dos, and MANY other small useful apps.
The author of that disc, Michael K.H. Au-Yeung has plenty of details on his site about the way to create such many-boot CDs. Definitely worth a look.
Note that the CD image is not available on his website, only the way to build it from YOUR version of the applications. Of course, I'm sure it's crawling around the P2P networks. And no, I don't have it.
Of course, Knoppix is your other best friend as it'll bring you your beloved Linux system in no time.
I have one too.
I bought it for 300. Today, the DP450 is 296 and the DP500 is 313.
DivX 3 is not out of question anymore. They seem to be willing to implement it now but I wonder when the firmware will acutally be available...
> lets hope the spoofing modules/programs don't open any security holes of their own!
I think this is the most important point here. You try to make things more secure by hiding your host fingerprints. But you add software of questionnable quality and stability to do that...
In the paper, it is mentionned that one of the modules even crashed his box.
Those things are fine to impress your friends but acutally lower your security.
This is not especially new. In 70's my father, a Belgian engineer, went to Brazil to adapt a plane engine to use suger cane alcohol and generate electricity for hospitals.
The main goal, at that time, was not so much the pollution but the fact that sugar cane alcohol was a lot cheaper and a local product.
I just read the story "Ibrahim Musa" from Brad Christensen's gallery.
It's really too bad I didn't hear about it earlier. I live in Belgium, so going to Amsterdam or staying in the lobby of the Meridien hotel with a hidden camera would have been dead funny. We could have extended the joke in Brussels or Amsterdam. They could have walked a bit, taken a cab,...
Think also. If he's not a senator, just claiming to be one and running such a scam is enough to get the police involved. If he's really a senator, we could know who he really is and make some noise about it in the right places...
But a nude beach in Brussels is a bit hard to find. There is no beach, for a start.
