WiMedia has created a MAC that basically allows for multiple protocols to use the same bandwidth. WUSB like Bluetooth is just one of protocols making bandwidth reservations (others might be IP or W1394).
The only other difference when this is all said and done will be the spectral mask used, as Bluetooth would most likely require a single world wide radio.
How did this first poster get modded up? And Informative?
Lets get some facts straight: UWB has been around since the early 1950's when the military started developing it. It is ACTUALLY a simplier radio than an 802.11 radio, and has one huge advantage; the power needed for the TX operation is less than the power needed for RX. This is huge plus in the mobile market where power == life. There are also great advantages in security as UWB is a LPI and LPD technology.
CES for your information had some great "real world" examples of working silicon.
If you want information about UWB antennas and their small (tiny tiny tiny) sizes search companies like Taiyo Yuden or TDK.
Hope this makes the thread worth the informative:D
See my Dad was just wrong.... I shouldn't have gone into Plastic's, I should have gone into Batteries, so I could help all of these Wireless products actually last longer then a month!
Last I checked the way to equalize value of products made in other countries is to Tariff them!!!
"Made in the U S of A" Stickers would be sweet too!
Electric Potato's Rules!
They had this device displayed at the Bluetooth SIG booth at WinHEC. I noticed that the implemenation of the browser was very small. It had email, calendar, and even said "you've got mail". It has a class 1 device which gives it a long range, but will chew up the battery.
It is a cool idea to make the GBA wireless, but you can't play Nintendo(r) games over the device which means no kid is EVER going to buy it.
Face it...
Bluetooth:= IR ;
This was the greatest game ever. Father of all RPG's to come, but alas its downfall is the stupid manual that came with it. It held the passwords to enter the game, and once it is gone the game is worthless.

The government is basically taking advantage of the fact the masses cares less and less. So why not take and take, and grab and grab as much as one can before the masses wake up and realize that they are no longer free, and that there is no way to correct it because the society is controlled by the top 1% that can use the media to brain-wash the lower 90% (assuming that there is 9% of a middle class left) into believing that grass root candidates are garbage, and hence not to vote for them. Why doesn't someone who has money step up and fight using the legal system to fight against some of these anti individual / masses laws. Although by then the courts will all be Republican and won't be changeable for 30 years (oh and hey if any women / men think that Roe is standing in ten years after these appointments is in denial / la-la-land). The next thing that is going to happen is anyone who speaks against the state during the upcoming war (lets not kid ourselves it is going to happen) is going to be put in prison as a possible Terrorist who is trying to cause unrest in the states. The Home Land Security act / Patriot act will allow it, and the people will watch it unfold in live 24 hour overlapping, regurgitate what the person just said, speculative CNN, MSNBC, and other cable news channels and do NOTHING. Oh wait, maybe people will go riot and break some store windows and steal anything possible because they are upset (and of course they will smile to the camera while doing it). What is the scariest thing is that Bush Jr. learned from his fathers mistake. He learned, 'do not start a war that will end before you have to campaign for re-election, wait and finish it during so you are thought of as the victor.' Oh well, maybe the American people will wake up soon enough to save our country.
