  1. Damn Authoritarian on Grad Student's Work Reveals National Infrastructure · · Score: 1

I have yet to meet someone who proposes that the US Constitution be rewritten for modern times that isn't some sort of state-loving authoritarian.

Show us, oh enlightened one, how you would rewrite the Constituion. Would I enjoy the same rights as I enjoy now under the current one? Please show us.

  2. It's a derivative work on Dr. Dre to pay $1.5 mil for "Illegal Sample" · · Score: 1

If the artist is taking a piece of music and morphing it for his own song, it's a derivative and protected by copyright. Pay the royalties or don't use the sample.

If you don't think that something like this is copyrighted, then you can toss the GPL right out the window. It's the same principle - a derivative.

  3. A waste of time on New York City Examines Law Mandating Open Source · · Score: 2, Insightful

NYC is staring a $10 BILLION deficit this year alone and this is all they can talk about?

What a waste of everyone's time and taxpayer money. Maybe they should do something more productive, like taking classes on accounting and business management so they can solve the REAL problems facing the city.

This shouldn't even be an issue for a government.

Please cite the relevent law that details this exception to the perjury statute. I don't think you're going to find that 'question that should not have been asked' clause. If Clinton's lawyer didn't object to the question, then it's their damn fault. If the judge overruled the objection, it's a matter for a higher court to resolve.

There is no wiggle room in the criminal penalties for perjury. If you're under oath you answer the question truthfully. No exceptions.

BTW, thanks for admitting that Clinton DID lie under oath.

Unfortunately, you're wrong. You can show in law where a corporation has to be a good community neighbor and follow the "spirit" of the law (Whatever that is)? Good luck.

The only goal of a corporation is to make money for its shareholders legally. Anything else makes nice PR, but in the end if the company isn't making money, then why should the stakeholders keep their money in it?
