  1. Anti-Republican Propaganda on Star Wars Most Violent Movie Ever? · · Score: 1

Its sad to use any excuse to spew forth ridiculous propaganda against republicans. Scary thing is, sounds like you believe it wholeheartedly.

END THE BRAIN WASHING! I'm sick of it! Keep the propaganda down until you get your head straight. You think you know whats up, but you just sound like everybody else

  2. Fundamental Flaw on A Minor Political Screed · · Score: 1

Its true that the richest pay disproportionally more. But flaw the of Mr. Brin saying that a tax cut to the rich would shift the taxpayer weight to the poor is that he incorrectly assumes that there is a set amount of taxes. If you're pushing for a smaller government, then you can give tax cuts to everyone, all around. There is no hike in the sales tax like in Europe. There is no shuffling the taxes into other places so that it gets hidden, you just eliminate it. As far as the inheritence tax, it is true that it encourages the rich to set up various non-profit organizations. But many of these are just schemes to avoid taxes and are not real charities. For some people I've talked to, a higher tax bracket encourages them to be less productive. They'll take 3 or 4 months off every year, b/c they make plenty of money anyway, and the time off pulls them down into a bracket where they are keeping more of the money they earn. Laws should not be set up to force people to spend their money a certain way. Just because they are rich, does that mean they owe society something? Do we want a society that punishes success? The propaganda and incorrect mindset is that there is only a set amount of wealth in the world, and if someone has a lot, that means he made it from the ones that only have a little. The fallacy of this idea is clearly exposed when thought out logically.

  3. Mindspring sucks on The CIHost Saga Continues · · Score: 1

We have 5 sites with Mindspring, and are going to move them all. I'm actively looking for a new host. Our main site, which gets about 15,000 hits a day goes down about 1-3 hours every 2 weeks or so on average. I call up mindspring every time, and they just say "yeah, we're having some problems with that server now, just check back in a few hours." meanwhile we're losing business and viewers. I've talked to the highest people I can & havn't seen any change. This has been going on for at least 4 mos. Any suggestions for hosts?

  4. Mongol? on A Universal Networking Language for the Internet? · · Score: 1

Since when did Mongol become one of the world's major languages? Half the people in Mongolia are nomads, besides! Thats like Al Gore's suggestion to bring the internet to Africa, to help the people who don't have electricity & running water. weird

  5. Re:Wow! on Evolution is a Myth in Kansas · · Score: 1

From what i've read about the fossil evidence, pretty much every "major find" that provides a transitional form from some ape-like ancestor to us has been a hoax. In fact, i think there are only 2 or 3 max confirmed fossils that support this theory. But there are TONS of fossils found. Just not any transitional fossils. Lots of fossils of species, but no evidence of a change of species. So now the proponent of evolution come up with "punctuated equilibrium" which says that a species will stay the same, and then jump, or evolve rapidly into something different.

Yeah - that's why there's no evidence, of course!

That's really stretching it, if you ask me. Grasping at straws.

i've always wondered how scientific our teachings on evolution are. they sound like plausable ideas, but the evidence doesn't seem to be there... its always seemed sketchy to me. better send scooby & gang to investigate
