By mistake some user entered in the wrong fax number for a company in our system. Some poor woman in Alaska was receiving these calls in the middle of the night from us. Eventually, I had a call from an ATT&T operator reach my desk as head of I.T.. She gave me the number that we were erroneously faxing to, and I tracked it down in the system. I called the woman to apologize personally.
I would suggest your friend contact their phone company and explain what is happening. The phone company will then get in touch with the company doing the faxing and the problem will be resolved.
