    It does not make sense if you give a shit about your employees.

    Those modern 401ks are not much better than taking your savings to the casino. I watched people lose 50% of more of their money just a few years before they were supposed to move into safe investments as they were getting close to retiring. So now they can either move to bonds and never have enough or spin that roulette wheel again.

    They use software not compiled for x86 so it is actually easier to get Wine to work than what you are suggesting.

    I believe that would be way to slow to watch. The netflix app uses the NDK so you have to emulate ARM which is slow. Besides it might well check for an emulator and fail to start.

    Is there a reason Silverlight can't use hardware acceleration under Wine? Video games running in Wine use the video card just fine.

    Reed Hastings is on the MS board until Nov 30 and owns quite a bit of MS stock.

    Also WIne might make recording this content slightly easier. I would imagine you could just record the screen in windows as well, though.

    Netflix can either set minimum silverlight to 5 or find another way to block it. It will be interesting to see if they do that.

    This is because they believe "The government can't do anything right". When they get elected they make sure that statement is true. Why anyone would want to elect someone who believes this I cannot understand. It would be like going to an interview and telling them that you can't do the job and their business will soon fail.

    We will not see a competitor unless you are lucky enough to get profitable service.

    Anyone deemed not profitable will have only a USPS that is in even worse shape. Thus will continue the mantra "Privatize the profits, socialize the losses".

    I know Verizon had an opt out page I had to go to recently to end some of it.

    Yeah Ideally we could buy X MB/GB at Y priority and select what traffic gets it. For most only Voip would need a good QOS, the rest could be unsorted.

    A lot of backhaul is now packet switched.
    Circuit switched stuff is going the way of the dodo.

    VoLTE will bring an end to there even being a difference at the end point.

    All Samsung Galaxy S3 variants, except for the Verizon unit that one is locked. There is also a dev edition of that phone for Verizon. Verizon actually has a higher percentage of phones with locked boot loaders except for maybe AT&T.

    Your 3 choices are total bullshit. Tell me if you want CDMA or GSM and I will find you an unlocked android phone.

    Nearly 100% of those are allowed to upgrade before that. Verizon is at 18 or 20 months and AT&T is the same.

    Never buy a phone with a locked boot loader.

    There are lots of competitors, no reason to not move to another one.

    That is how android will continue to do well, even if some of the competitors don't.

    These devices are only used for 12-18 months. So not going to need that stuff and none of them support software upgrades long enough, but open source solves that.

    It will grow strongly, but they will not be able to gain back a majority or anything near it.

    I don't think apple cares anyway. They want to be seen as a premium brand, and that means not selling the most units.
