  1. Re:I though IE was great.... on Why IE Is So Fast ... Sometimes · · Score: 1

The browser wars on the Macintosh are totally different. A number of people use IE (still in version 5) because it's the default and it's compatible with all web pages. IE 5 for Mac sucks though; it's an incomplete carbon port and it behaves more like a Classic OS application than an OS X application.

Many Mac users are discovering Chimera (which is being developed alongside Mozilla). It is completely OS X native, being written in Cocoa, and it's a joy to use. It's very fast, lightweight, it has tabbed browsing, and you can even store your passwords on a keychain.

Opera, on the other hand, doesn't have a very god Mac version out. The PC version might be better but the Mac versions suck as far as I know. Matter of opinion, of course.
There are a few people using other stuff, like Mozilla, iCab, Netscape or OmniWeb. OmniWeb in particular is really really nice; a bit slow but the interface is completely OS X native.

Oh, and this is my first post... I wanted to make it special. I can't lose my /. virginity on some idiotic "FP!!!!!!!" message ;)
