Obviously you are missing the point of medical school. Being one of those currently in the process let me shed some light on that little statement there. To get through, you can NOT fail any class. That means to be last in your class at a medical school, you have still mastered greater than 70% of the material presented in every single class (where i attend, there are no curves, it is always 70%). This is hardly as easy a feat as you make it out to be. I read the fscking article and I can tell you I am strongly opposed to something like this. I have had significant hands-on training already, and im not even at the stages of clinical training (years 3 and 4). This is essential. An excellent doctor is not simply well-learned in a purely academic sense; They are the penultimate diagnostician, who knows how to extract from patients whatever information he needs to treat and they may be unwilling to tell. These types of skills can only be learned through submersive experience in the clinics interviewing and palpating away, not just 70% of your time your last two years.
