  1. The reality has arrived.. on The Downward Spiral of Music Retailing · · Score: 1

Now for the love of all thats holy, drop CD prices by 50% and you'll see an increase in sales.

That's right, sales. Not profits, if they complain about the low income, then those corporate money grubbing bastards can lick my hiney.

:) I'm sure anyone reading slashdot can read that for themselves. Except for those select individuals who never read the articles, you trolling bastards!!

  4. Prior Art on New AIM Offering "end to end" Encryption · · Score: 1

    SimpLite for AIM.

Acts as a proxy for your AIM client and allows encryption of your messages. Course the person you're talking to has to have this installed as well in order to have the convo encrypted.

  7. Still haven't got it.. on Time to Face the Music · · Score: 1

I don't think it's clicked into their heads yet that a large portion of these mp3 thieves only download them because CDs are just to damn expensive.

I have to pay $15-20 CAN for a CD these days. If they dropped that price by $5-7, I would be much more likely to purchase the CD instead of just looking on the back of it to memorize the song lists to download.

  8. A real treat! (obligatory) on Interesting and Educational Web Pages for Children? · · Score: -1, Troll

Everyone is ranting about if you have physical access you can just rip out the hdd and get whatever is on it.

But in some conditions, say in a university computer lab where the computers are locked down, and monitored by surveillance video, its a little hard to do that without causing a rise in the security dept.

With something like this, I can walk in, toss in the CD, and install backdoors at will.
