Alaska is already removed from the US. There is a low population with poor voter turn out. There are already people here (I'm in Alaska)with leanings toward seccesion (Myself not included). If you can stomach the inclement weather, it is actually a nice place. The state is relatively regionalized/factionalized, making it easier to conquer..... I mean free.
So, how about it? Why not Alaska?
