Doom on iPAQ is all very well, but wouldn't you rather play an FPS on your PC ? I would.
The real issue with games content is exploiting the potential of having a hi-res motion control system as standard.
This article in The Guardian mentions that a game-oriented release of the device is being considered. If this rumour has any basis in fact then I suspect we can look forward to something a bit more interesting than ports of Doom <yawn>.
Never mind if Tetris is in some sense NP Hard. This is hardly relevant in light of the fact that classical Tetris games have a finite expected length even for an angelic player (that is, one who magically plays the best possible move without need for an algorithm).
I thought the proof was well known ? Just involves considering a sequence consisting only of 'S' and 'Z' pieces and showing that certain sequences cause a monotonic increase in the amount of cruft at the edges of the board...
To put it informally, who cares that it probably takes exponential time to find the best move given that the best move won't save you anyway ?
