    Well, at least now all of us Cleveland sports fans can get insurance to pay for our psychiatry sessions. I wonder if there is a 'Wait Till Next Year" syndrome also?

    C++ generics predate Ada95's strong generics mechanism by quite some time. In fact, the inventor of generics--Stepanov--used C++ as his testbed for ideas. C++ generics go back to the early 1980s.

    Not true, from page 4 of The C++ Programming language, Second Edition, by Bjarne Stroustrup.

    "The template facility was partly designed to formalize macro usage, partly inspired by the Ada generics (both their strengths and their weaknesses), and partly inspired by Clu's parameterized modules. Similarly, the C++ exception handling mechanism was partly inspired by Ada, by Clu[11], and partly by ML[26]."

    Actually I had Multiplan running under CP/M several years before the Mac came out.
