    ( 5 days to 4 days is a 20% change.) Either labor costs go up 20% if you pay the people the same amount but they only work 4 days, or, everyone takes a 20% pay cut. Which is it? There's no magic wand you can wave to eliminate unemployment.

    If the demand gets to the point of saturating supply, the Backbone vendors will start to raise prices. The price now is artificially low due to all the fiber laid in the late 90's by companies that went bankrupt. Plus, the ability of vendors to increase data rates on a stand of fiber keeps increasing dramatically.

    This is a brilliant insight, which is totally no-obvious. I can't think of a single instance of prior art. ( After all no one has ever had to sit through commercials before watching rented DVD's that you can't skip or fast forward through. )

    I can't believe no one has mentioned Form-Z yet. It has an excellent renderer if that is your primary concern. It uses the Lightworks radiozity engine. It doesn't have much in the animation department though.
