how is it broken? because it doesn't have an eye candy install process? it gives you exactly what you need and nothing more. unless you specifically can identify why it's broken, like it wont install on your system; your comment is bunk. i prefer the 'fits like a glove' type install.

NAIM is everything I need in an aim client, and more. Encryption, console based, irc+lily+icq compatible, been around forever, etc, etc.
And dont forget, combined with screen, its extremely portable.
Who is to say that a rogue country doesn't insert insurgents within private industry to plant bugs and harmful code inside propietary software? Furthermore, the responsability to find such code falls into the hands of a few within the company, whereas the entire world has the ability to proof open source software.
Making software proprietary and allowing only a few to view and modify the code does not in any way make it anymore secure. Take Microsoft for example, they unintentionally sabatage their own software and we rely entirely on them to find, correct and prevent such happenings.
Every hour, Infoworld "sees a massive surge of RSS newsreader activity" that "has all the characteristics of a distributed DoS attack."
If one RSS file is parsed by tens of thousands of readers every hour on the hour, how is that anything like "all the characteristics" of a DDoS? If only real DDoS's REALLY has all the characteristics of an RSS reader. (ie, Loaded one document at a specific interval, and doesn't do anything else for another hour)
I'm sorry but online bloggers weren't the reason for Rather or Lott stepping down.
Proof: We've been bitching and blogging about SCO for a couple of years now and that hasn't made them go away.
I just got an e-mail back from Darl, thier web site wasn't hacked. It's their new marketing ploy.
There is also an article on wired about this.
I find it very amusing that a Half Life 2 ad is/was displayed on this news article.

If it's not broke, don't fix it.

wget "ftp://ftp3.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ISO-IMAGES-i38 6/5.3/5.3-RELEASE-i386-miniinst.iso" && echo "Wah Hoo!"
That site is far from accurate with respect to the data already reported.
'Ethical' when concerned with the happenings on the Internet sir is a very realtive realm.
