well, i DO think it's a free speech issue, but i DON'T think that's what upsets people. it's upsetting because there are relatively elegant solutions to the 'problem' (referer checking, access control, etc.) but rather than pursuing them these companies hire lawyers to write ridiculous and unenforcable rules to limit the behavior of everyone on the internet. this is exactly the sort of attitude that generates outcry on/.
