on a side note, one thing that I heard is that he is supposed to address illegals in jan/feb,. From what my GOP rep says that they will likely do e-verify, but he would not answer about real penalties for businesses that hire illegals. He did say that he thought that DACAs would be part of that, but we will see. If they phase-in e-verify over 2 years, and push automation, they could improve our economy a great deal and might even cover the damage that I expect from their tax bill.
illegals have not been stopped. If you read the real data, it is that they are catching less of them and the level returned to levels under W.
The problem is that under 8 years of W, illegals grew from 5M to 12M MINIMUM. Many would argue that it grew more.
Under O, we were catching/releasing anybody with kids, so, the illegals simply turned themselves over. A such, it sounds like a lot, but it is not.
This is the same issue when ppl are saying that illegals commit fewer crimes. Turns out that it is based on CONVICTIONS. So, lets say that you have an illegal that does a burglery or is caught selling drugs. Most of the DAs simply turn them over to ICE and send them on their way. They do not count.
In addition, illegals will run from any crime. In Colorado, I saw a car hit another one. The one at fault drove off and I pursued. SInce his car was badly damaged, he stopped at walmart and tried to run. I stood in his way and said that he had to wait for police. He reached into his pocket making it look like he had a gun and then told me to let him go. I simply stood my ground and wondered if I would see my 1 y.o girl again. Thankfully police arrived then, and no, he did not have a gun. Found out later that since nobody was killed, they simply deported him. No convictions.
Finally, consider the fact that high paying jobs in Mexico is $10/DAY, while in America, I have seen McD paying $12 / hr. Construction for illegals pays $20-$25 / hr, and with no taxes taken out.
Believe me, Trump has not even slowed down illegals. He is arresting more than under O, but he is actually deporting fewer. The reason is that under O, they were required to ignore anybody that was not known to be violent. As such, nearly everybody that was caught under O was deported. With T, they are grabbing and all illegals and unless they are known as violent, they are taking the case to court and flooding them. So, we are now spending almost DOUBLE what we did under O and getting less results.
I do agree that 'mood' does make a difference. Under O, the far right MSM (faux, breitbart, daily stormer, etc) were constantly claiming that the economy was crashing. And yet, it grew after the first year. Starting with T winning, they have screamed that the economy is booming, and yet, it is growing at the same rate as it did under O.
OTOH, the regular MSM simply prints out what is. As such, they are not causing up/downs.
Regardless, Trump really has done very little to improve or harm this economy. It is been going on O's leadership. That will change within 6 months of their passing this tax bill. That will make an impact. Good or bad, we will see.
Per capitia is worthless. U and I have minimal ability to impact the co2. My family is way below what a UK per capitia emits, but that is due to musk making solar City and Tesla available. Had it not been for his pushing EVs and solar, then we would not have any EVs, and solar would be less than 1/10th of where it is. As such, this shows that best measure is CO2 / $GDP. This is where business and gov jump in, which is where real choices are made.
Sadly, you have a good post there, esp. that last part. We need to re-do these taxes and balance our budget ASAP.
But,what do you bet that neither GOP nor dems will do a damn thing about these issues?
Oh, as to blame,it is ALWAYS somebody else's fault when it comes to trump.
Of course, the battery cell that Japan provides goes to model S/X and not to the M3. In fact, the cell that M3 uses is made no other place.
The cells that Tesla is picking up from other sources is for powerwall/packs and possibly the semi, though I doubt that.
What is funny is that German car manufacturing is down due to lack of sales, so plenty on the lots. And yet the AC does not understand the issues/economics between supply being more than a shrinking demand on ICE, while supply is short of quickly growing demand for EVs.
None of those regulations impacted business except for coal. And few of those actually impacted them either. Coal is picking up due to exports and trump pushing more subsidies for them. However, Nat gas/wind will continue to cause utilities to shut down coal plants in America.
I have stopped replying to ACs but will make exception here. The fact is that fewer ppl are available due to retirement. Basically, u are looking at an anomaly going on because many retired still need decent insurance.
We have 300+ million. Of that roughly 200+ million are working. So adding 228k is roughly 1/1000 or.1%. with unemployment steady, it means that ~228k were laid off and then rehired elsewhere.
Now, let's see what happens over the next year or so. And yes, a us presidents actions normally take 6-12 months to take hold. And since trump has not pass a single item that really impacted the economy, this remains Obama's.
Seriously, Boeing is doing nothing unless the feds fund things at 100%. And what will we do now that trump/GOP are going to jump deficit spending way up? Nothing. NASA is very likely going to get killed.
China is building 700 new coal plants in China and around the world over the next 5 years. The technology is what GE gave them. However, in America, we stopped im-ex bank supporting building coal plants. Otoh, China doubled down on it and there is adding another 43% more coal plants than exists today.
Polluter or CO2 emitter?
And based on lies from China, the cross-over was in 2006/7. However, china was found to be lying and admited that they burned 17% more coal because of what OCO2 was showing. Problem is, even with 17% more coal, the numbers STILL do not match what CHina is emitting.
And even when it comes to top emitter, Western Europe was the large emitter until 1997. Then they went below America. Basically, America was at the top for about a decade.
Finally, as I pointed out that per capita does not matter, but AMerica has NEVER been the top one. Many other nations, including Australia and a number of middle east nations have been much higher. In fact, the highest that America has been was something like #8 and we are below that now.
actually, it would not have mattered. There is a chinese based troll here whose job it is to knock America and try to make it all about America, while ignoring the real facts.
Anybody that pushes per capita while ignoring facts of total CO2 is simply lying as much as the CHinese gov is about coal and cracking.
The part that makes me the maddest about this is that the far left are so attached to the lies that they really do not give a flying fuck about the facts.
All they want to do is blame the easy target even though America continues to come down in CO2.
I really wanted to see our coal mining die, which trump could not have brought it back. However, with china building these new coal plants esp in South America, there is little doubt that coal production will continue in America due to China. Sad.
The good news is that as along as America does not export more nat gas, our use of coal will continue to drop.
Probably the saddest part is that if we had any decent leadership here, we could have stopped all of the new coal building quickly. All we had to do was put up a slowly increasing tax on all goods based on where the worst part comes from. With that single tax, we would have gotten nearly all nations/states to stop building new coal plants. Sad that we voted in an idiot like trump.
It is likely going to be much higher co2 emissions because massive numbers of new coal plants are still going in. China continues to add 30-50 GW of new coal plants each year just in China. At the same time, they are adding 100+ GW of new coal plants in other nations. Then on top of that, they are exporting their coal which is some of the worst in the world.
Then add in trump trying to save coal in America. We will not add more coal here, but we will likely increase export. The only good part is that it is much cleaner than China's, but it will still pollute heavily regardless.
Prices need to come down for things like EVs, Wind, Solar, Nuclear, etc. And that is the case.
Interestingly, Elon Musk is driving this more than any single nation, business, or person. Kind of sad, and yet, in the future, he will be regarded as a true hero for this.
on a side note, one thing that I heard is that he is supposed to address illegals in jan/feb,. Electric Trucks are getting zero subsidies and Tesla has already pre-sold over a 1000 trucks, if inside info is correct.
Same thing that had been happening for the previous 6 years.

Nope. Best thing we can do is phase in e-verify over 2 year period while pushing robotics. This would give ppl and business time to adjust.

I do not know much about that. However, I believe that GE makes their mech parts ( alternator, transmission, etc ) there, so very likely.
Seriously, Boeing is doing nothing unless the feds fund things at 100%. And what will we do now that trump/GOP are going to jump deficit spending way up? Nothing. NASA is very likely going to get killed.

The globe does not fucking care where CO2 comes from. It DOES care about total concentration.
China is adding another 700 coal plants around the globe over the next 5 years (and that is just what is STARTED today
As of August 2017, this alone will increase coal plants by 43% over today's amount. That is more than what the entire western wold burns and is more than 2/3 of what CHina does on their own.
As to paris accord, it is fucking joke. It is doing NOTHING to stop CO2 production. Not even slowing it down. The reason why most nations are backing it is because they do not have to do a damn thing. And it's backed by idiots that do not work on the CO2 issue.
Educate yourself.
As this one says, they are doing 700 plants and will expand coal based electricity world-wide by 43%. IOW, china will add more coal plants just in 5 years than the entire western world has today. In fact, since China has around 58% of current coal plants, they will add 2/3 of what they have.
It is likely going to be much higher co2 emissions because massive numbers of new coal plants are still going in. China continues to add 30-50 GW of new coal plants each year just in China.
