Board of Directors: How long before you can make the "Jump To Lightspeed"?
Developers: It'll take a few months to get the code from the navi-computer.
Marketing: Are you kidding? At the rate World of Warcraft is gaining??
Developers: Traveling through hyperspace ain't like coding dancers, boy! Without precise error-handling we could fly right through a release date or bounce too close to a complete rewrite and that'd end your little trip real quick, woudn't it?
Marketing: What's that flashing?
Developers: We're losing another thousand subscribers! Go strap yourselves in I'm going to have to delay the "Jump to Lightspeed"!
My wife isn't into RPG's at all, but watched me playing this for a while one night and decided to give it a try. Within one night, she was hooked and we're still playing it.
Co-op play in this game is great fun and the hack n' slash aspect is good for partners who might be turned off by more "in-depth" RPG play. After we finish this one I'll probably be looking to pick up "Gauntlet: Dark Legacy" to keep us entertained until BG:DA2.
To offer an alternate selection I would also second the notion of the various sports titles, EA and otherwise. Almost all (well, every one I've picked up) have offered multi-player co-op or competitive play.
My current pick? Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf 2003. This is another one the wife wasn't interested in until she (reluctantly?) picked it up and gave it a try. Now she's completed the Tiger Challenge and regularly beats me. Besides, you can play with up to 4 people and the slow pace makes it a perfect social drinking game.:)
