While trying to order the demo disc, I got a "Your process has deadlocked and been killed" (paraphrased, there was lots of "Microsoft" bits around too) while doing the credit card check. I just hit reload. Hope I don't get (charged for) two of them...
They're just looking for something their readers can latch on to, not doing a comparison of various command line shells. Honestly, I doubt this was malicousness or ignorance, just that anything more detailed would have been overkill.
I know they're not Fortune 500, but Diamond Multimedia ain't no one-product startup either. They're certainly one of the larger video and sound hardware companies. I'd actually be glad to see Microsoft release a portable MP3 player. I've got no complaints with Microsoft hardware, and you can't fob off MS with a load of FUD implying they're a bunch of pirates operating out of someone's garage.
Of course, I won't buy one if I can't get Linux software to talk to it...
It spread far faster than any human could hope to, and destroyed those civilizations (70-90% fatalities, IIRC) long before the conquistadores got there. They just picked up the pieces.
And in the small favors department, at least the Catholics decided the natives were human and merely enslaved them. The Protestants up north decide they were devilspawn, and began a lowkey genocide campaign.

Unfortunately, you missed a word

Unless bugs make the product unusable (not just
unreliable), I think you're SOL.

Check your pppd options and make sure that debug
is enabled, then check your syslog. That'll give
you a better idea of what's going on, at least.
