Citrix Winframe/Metaframe solutions are a heck of a lot faster than VNC. I get better performance connecting to a Metaframe box over DSL than I do connecting with VNC to a machine on my local ethernet.
I notice that if i login to http://www.slashdot.org, i dont have my cookies. However, http://slashdot.org works fine. This is in all the various machines I use.

If you're in Ameritech land, http://www.ameritech. net/dyn/ndNSAPI.nd/ndLoop/pgAvailability can tell you if you are able to get SpeedPath (their ADSL product).
