... I don't use Microsoft stuff because I am unhappy with both it and with the company behind it. Why should I now start using their technology again after all these years? I don't care how cool it is or how talented the mono developers are, I have issues with the company behind it and will not be suprised if they turn around at some point and make poor Miguel look like a complete sucker.
If there is any sanity left in the world, the outcry at the rough handling that is bound to ensue (bullies never do things gently do they?) will have these 'laws' modified or repealed.
In the mean time, feel free to vote out politicians that seem to only remember to represent your views in their pre-election pamphlets...
But now you are expecting rational thought from people that are elected by the populous and work for business whilst trying not to get caught out with their fingers in the pie or doing something that is 'immoral'.
Were it not for the twisted religous aspects that creep into public life, not only would gambling be licenced and controlled, so would prositution. Imagine the health implications that regular medicals would mean to both the ladies and their clients. That is to say nothing of cutting out the people that introduce drugs as a method of control.
wouldn't we prefer work that was a product of someones talent rather than someones ability to rip off someone else???
Granted, there is a grey area in the middle but when something is obviously a rip off, why should it be tolerated?
Just my 2p.
... but I have always found that quality goes up and the nunmber of bugs go down when there is actually adequate time allowed for development and testing.
So many projects don't even get completed and this is mainly because management will not accept realistic estimates as to how long they will take to complete so the timescales get shrunk and funnily enough, the project runs over. Once the time pressure is on, quality goes out of the window because it is more important to deliver.
Cynical??? - Maybe, but I have seen this happen so many times and yet no-one ever faces up to the fact that poor estimates are the root cause of most failures. If it can't be done in time, DON'T DO IT. If it must be done, allow sufficient time to do it properly.
Still, I'm only a software engineer. What do I know about anything.

(I live in the UK)
It will be more worrying when they fit the guns straight to the cameras in order to weed out the inefficient human in the loop.
Why not site these cameras at ports and airports as any dodgy people would appear with their faces obscured so you could just arrest them...
This would be a fine news story to show to the masses and will achieve more than any venom we could ever spill - it would show the truth.
The Brain Murderer
Yes, but being a Brit, I don't have much knowledge of the state beyond the reputation as a place of legalised gambling.
