Here at the school I work, we always try to use a hardware solution. Right now we use Radix (http://www.radix-int.com/). It adds to the cost of the lab but it works 100% of the time. Deep freeze is good but people have found ways to hack it in the pass.. so for us it's not a 100% trouble free solution.
I agree with you 100%! Parallels Desktop is a blast to use BECAUSE of VT. That's why I can't wait to see what kind of performance we'll see with VMWare under MacOS X. I think VMWare is just sending out marketing fud so that people will still buy VMWare products even if it's slower then the competitors...
I have Firefox setup to delete cookies on exit. Also, it only accepts cookies from originating site as well.
Remind me why I should KEEP cookies again? Oh I know.. it's probably for Amazon to start charging me more because I'm "loyal" customer!
No it doesn't require to validate to download the file but having installed it on a test box I can tell you that it does "check" for a valid key on the box. So they probably did the same thing as XP SP2 and invalidated a bunch of known pirated keys.
Huh? Have you ever used AVG? It's got NO spyware and no adware. The "signature" at the bottom of emails can be turned off or personalized. I have it setup to sign in (and IN only) emails with attachments that tells me the email is virus free.
Please don't make false claims. Especially on great products like AVG.
Every time I go at someones house and they have "technical" questions, I walk to the computer to find 80% of the time... McAfee that dates back to 2000-2002 (the other 20% is NAV). No warning that it's not updating anymore or anything. People assume that the icon on the tray is there and they feel safe.
I nuke it and install AVG. Work great. Less of a ressource hog (especially comparted to NAV) and oh yeah.. it's FREE as in beer!

Huh? A little something called MacOS X? Ease of use? INOVATIVE design?
