Jesus, when is this nonsense putting Corba and .NET in the same sentence going to end ?! Corba is a distributed systems technology; .NET is a software platform. And yes, if you're talking about web services, those are indeed included in .net but not in any way related to it more then they are related to say php or c++. Except of course MS has 70% or so of the commitee working on web services :).

    This *really* sucks.
It's a lame braindead extremely ordinary task every near-decent php/db programmer had to do at some point, when he finally realized mysql sucks and he's gotta move everything into postgresql :p
Clearly, lame publicity for the company in cause, which now turned into bad publicity.

Not sure what planet are you from, really. Ok, say you don't like java, but don't go trashing Oracle with it too. My first oracle went on a AMD K6@400Mhz on linux rh.7 with 80MB of ram. And it's faster that mysql on joins. And it's been alive for 1 year now. And i've loaded & ran java code from/inside the DB. perhaps instead of making bizzare and truly false affirmations like 'it gets updated too ofter in incompatible ways' you'd better pick up turbo pascal 6.0 and start coding for the msdog. cheers.
